We're closing out 2025 the same way we started it—building with independent practices who refuse to compromise on patient care or business sustainability.
This year, the Practice Independence community showed up in so many ways, from online to in person. You engaged with our content, challenged our assumptions, and proved that independence is the advantage that corporate healthcare can't copy.
We’re independent, but we’ve built this together this year.

🎁 Practice Independence Wrapped

The end of the year always comes with reflection. In terms of Practice Independence for 2025:
The community grew by 1,060 people – That's 1,060 more practice owners who believe independence is worth fighting for.
You read 13.3K words – Every edition focused on one goal: giving you tactical insights that improve both patient outcomes and your bottom line.
You clicked 245 different links – You explored the resources, dug into the case studies, and engaged with the practitioners who are proving this model works.
📰 Editions of the Year

What was the content that you found behind the numbers?
These newsletters caught your eye:
Your Practice Needs Salespeople, Not Yes-People: Hiring people who challenge your assumptions is essential. This piece broke down why your best employees should push back on bad ideas, not rubber-stamp them.
Respect the People-Process-Technology Hierarchy, or Watch Your Therapy Practice Fail: Technology can't fix broken processes or compensate for the wrong team. This edition mapped out the hierarchy that determines whether your practice scales successfully or collapses under complexity.
Don't Choose Technology that Destroys Practice Productivity: Not all technology makes you more efficient. Some creates new problems even as it solves old ones. This newsletter gave you the framework to evaluate whether a tool actually serves your practice or just adds administrative burden.
These newsletters kept you reading:
How to Stay Profitable as Reimbursement Rates Plummet: Reimbursement rates aren't coming back. This piece laid out the business model adjustments that let independent practices maintain margins when insurance companies cut payments.
Independent Healthcare Practices Can Balance Purpose and Profit: The idea that you have to choose between financial success and quality care is corporate propaganda. This edition showed how independent practices use that false dichotomy as their competitive advantage.
The Independent Practice Advantage: Better Technology, Better Outcomes, Better Margins: Corporate healthcare moves slowly. Independent practices can adopt technology faster, implement it more effectively, and use it to deliver better outcomes at better margins. This newsletter explained how.
Bringing the Practice Independence Community Together

Eddie and the Indie Health team hosted a dinner in November with Dan Vapne and a group of practice owners who are making independence work. No slides. No pitches. Just practitioners sharing what's actually working in their businesses.
The conversation covered everything from hiring decisions to technology implementation to the mental game of staying independent when corporate consolidation seems inevitable. This community needs tactical, honest conversations with people who are building profitable practices without compromising on care.
We're planning more of these dinners across the country in 2026. If you want to bring this conversation to your city or join one near you, reach out to Eddie.

2025 proved that independent practices are doing more than just surviving. They're building the future of healthcare delivery. The practitioners who joined this community this year are implementing better systems, hiring better teams, and proving that independence isn't a romantic idea. They aren't waiting for permission to do things differently.
We're planning more content, more dinners, and more resources in 2026 to support practitioners who are building practices that last.
Thanks for being part of this community. See you in the new year.
Take care,
Indie
